Currently, I am looking for diploma work students (commercial in Swedish only) that are interested in theoretical condensed matter physics and nanoscience. Research
Research I can suggest projects that are related to e.g. spintronics, spectroscopy, effects of inelastic scattering on electronics in nanoscale systems, developments of theoretical methods, particularly within non-equilibrium condensed matter physics.

Research interests

  • Non-equilibrium condensed matter physics
  • Spectroscopic information in transport
  • Strongly correlated materials
  • Inelastic scattering effects
  • Molecular electronics
  • Noise spectroscopy
  • Nano magnetism
  • Spin dynamics
  • Spintronics

  • I have close collaborations with Dr. A. V. Balatsky and Dr. J. -X. Zhu, Theoretical Division, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Los Alamos, NM, USA, and with Prof. M. Galperin, UCSD, San Diego, CA, USA.

From January 1, 2009, I have taken on Peter Berggren as a graduate student, for studies of atomic and molecular clusters on metallic surfaces. At the moment, Peter is studying the dynamics of a moving superconducting island embedded in a Josephson junction.

During spring 2010, Christin Edblom, UMU, is doing her bachelor diploma thesis on Current control of localized spins.
